60 Stuck in reverse

I was driving my 60 and it became stuck in reverse. After removing the shifter console, I saw that the 1,3,R sliding gear is stuck to the sliding gear shaft. My guess is that some contamination got on the spline and lodged the gear. Any recommendations on how to free the gear without a complete tear down? Otherwise I will have to do a last minute tear down to beat the winter storms.

Thanks

If the shaft is galled, you won't loosen it with kroil. Better put her someplace warm.

I'd use something like PB blaster or kroil, you should be able to free...sure you don't have other problems?
