Just bought a 3020 with powershift. When I first start it & put it in gear it takes about 15 seconds before it starts moving. The hydraulics are also slow and jumpy. I drove it home, took an hour and it shifted better than. Coming up a hill I left it in 8th to make it pull and it sucked the motor right down Do I have big problems. What do I check first? Thanks.

Sounds like dirty hyd filters or maybe pump in transmission leaking as I just rebuilt the one in my 3020. Loss of power could be dirty fuel filters or possibly injector pump.In my opinion it shouldn't bog down in 8th gear with just the naked tractor.

The slow hydraulics could be caused by clogged filters or suction screen, weak trans pump, stuck relief valve, internal leak on the hitch,or remotes.
You could check the air and fuel filters, for your lack of power, but I think you will find that it is pretty much normal for a powershift 3020.They have a narrow power band, not alot of lugging power, and the powershift sucks 8-10 hp. I have one, about all it gets used for is pulling the tedder and rake.

I would get the tractor dynoed to check out the engin, I sure would change both hydraulic filters and see what i got and then go from there
