I am taking apart the radiator to clean and possibly replace the core. My question is the overflow tube. I can not seem to seperate it from the upper tank. I loosened up the nut and fitting which attach the pipe to the upper tank.
Is there something I"m missing? Or should I just cut it and replace the whole tube? Thanks

Should be a tube soldered or brazed to the fitting sticking up into the top tank some. It could be hitting on the baffle inside or scale while turning it? Was suppose to be made with a short tube like that soldered into fitting that screws into tank bottom. Then another overflow tube with another fitting screwed into that but I've seen some where someone brazed the whole thing together and had to cut it out like you are thinking of.
