I am working on a 52 John Deere A. I went and put oil in the powertrol and it leaked it all into the transmission housing. Has anyone else ever had this problem? How do you go about fixing something like that and is it difficult? I was looking in the book and there are so many small pieces in it I am afraid of just starting to tear into it without knowing what to look for.
Thanks for the Input
Adam

You probably have blown the gasket on the rockshaft pistin cyl. You have to remove the rockshaft housing and you will see the cylinder sticking out of the rear housing/ Replace the gasket and piston seals . While you are there replace the seals on the pto shaft as they can pump oil into the trany also..
