Does anyone know when John Deere changed from classic green to new green?

According to my dealer John Deere has always used the same green on all the tractor. He said that in 80's or so collectors wanted a different color so JD developed classic green so collectors could make there restored tractor a little different. This could be entirely wrong but the guy has worked at the dealership for a LOooooong time. AL

I believe they changed to the new green in 1960 when the New Generation tractors came out.
