I came over from the Red channel to get info on a set of plows I might buy.I think they"re #1350"s or 1450"s.5 bottom 16" semi mount. All I can see that they need to go to the field is one molboard, hit with snow plow and broke off. On the beam that goes to the tractor there is a slide type adjustment with a come-along used to move it back and forth. It looks like it would move the plows pretty far to the side. Can these plows be used as either in furrow or on land? These plows were bought at an auction and the guy never used them.He doesn't know a thing about them and neither do I.Are these good plows and will they work behind my 966? Price:$550.00 Thanks for any help. A.J.

The parts manual is on JD parts site. If link doesn't work just go to www.jdparts.deere.com and click on parts catalog and then type in 1350 for model. It will help you get the year narrowed down some.

There is a reason JD plows are cheaper than others. I've used a 1450 6x16 and they pull hard, don't cover well, and won't handle high residue. The semi mount turn to the right ok but if turned to the left will lay over on their side and break something. Neighbor bought a JD 1450 6x in good condition without a cylinder for $150. I'd recommend looking for an IH 720 or maybe a White.

AJ, JD shows 2 different operators manuals for those plows. OMA25334 operators manual covers both 1350 & 1450 up to 1975. OMA35294 covers both 1350 & 1450 from 1975 on. Parts catalog at a dealer or from JD publications may also give you a indication of the year. Parts catalog PC1205 covers 1350 & 1450 plows plus other later versions as well, 2350 & 2450. Older manuals you may find on ebay and other online vendors may use other edition numbers but still be correct for your plows. New copies should be available from JD.

A.J., I have a 1450 plow and it is a very good plow. You should get along fine in most soils with a 5-16 behind your tractor. The difference between the two plows is the 1350 has shear bolt standards and the 1450 has safety trip standards. Be sure to get an Operator"s Manual so you can set it correctly. Hope this helps. Mike
