A few months ago my Uncle who lives in Florida (I live in Michigan) bought me a 1946 JD A. Im in need of a rear rim believe they are 36" for this tractor, as well as tires for it. . . Does anyone know of a place near Orlando FL that deals in tractor tires? I know I can get them from Miller out of OH but when the tractor is in FL that doesn"t help much.

Thanks,

Joe

Give Jeff Clay Tires a call in Kissimmee Florida.
I just bought an 12.4x36 Firestone Field and Road from them. 407-846-1957 or 407-846-4002

I believe the rear tire size for that tractor is most commonly 11 x 38 (12.4 tread) but my "A" parts book shows demountable rim used on cast center for 9 x 36 tire, 10 x 36, 9 x 38, 10 x 38, 11 x 38, and 12 x 38 (13.6 tread) My parts book was printed in March 1950. Are you going to leave the tractor in Fla.? Or get it and bring it back to Michigan? Tires and parts might be a little more expensive in Fla. Photo is of my 46 "A" with 11 x 38 tires on the back (12.4 tread width) --Walt--

I sure wish they would stay that rust free in Ohio ! That thing is a gem compared to the beat up rusted up ones around here.

Joe; The thing to do is call Miller, and see if their agenda includes a show close to you. If so, they will bring the tires you buy to the show, and charge no freight.
