Rebuilding a 1010 Carb.

This afternoon I began the rebuild of my 1010"s carburetor. Disassembly went fine until it came to removing the load jet went fine. There was no economizer jet, although there is a hole and threads for one. The idle jet, however ... there was gunk and rust in the threads and the idle jet stuck. A bit too much turn and one half of the idle jet screw head broke off.

There are a couple of questions. Should there be an economizer jet? Can these jets be replaced? What size jets should be used? About the jet with the busted head, I suppose I could just leave it in there although it"s turned out about 1/2 to 3/4 turn, but I"m not sure that the hole isn"t buggered. What proceedure would I use to drill and tap this?

Anyone know where I can get a new or rebuilt carb for less then $575.00?

Thanks.

Al

You didn't say if Marvel Schebler or Zenith? Check with JD dealer and parts list for the jets and other parts needed also.
