L118 won't start

I have a 2 year old L118 and it will not start. I am currently using it to plow my driveway (only had to use it 3-4 times this winter), but normnally just use it to mow 1 acre of grass.

After sitting idle for a month I tried starting it up last week and it would not turn over. I jumped it with my car and the L118 would not start immediately. I had to let it sit for 20 minutes to charge, then I was able to plow for a few hours. Then, after resting it for a few hours I wnet out to finish plowing and the again the charge would not take.

I put in a new battery per my local JD retailer and I have the same problem. The machine will not start. The retailer told me on the phone to take out 1 of the spark plugs and try to start it, but that also would not work. The tractor clicks and the fly wheel barely turns a couple times, but will not turn over.

My retailer is coming to pick up the machine to take a look at it back at the shop.

Amy thoughts as to what could be the problem?

Thanks

Anthony - Won't start, or won't turn over?

Won't start - check battery voltage, fuel, spark.
Won't turn over - Valves could be out of spec. Should be 0.004-0.006

The problem is that you unfortunately bought a L118. There are a lot of people out there that bought these tractors thinking that they were getting John Deere quality. As our sales manager says, "you get what you pay for". I am not saying this as a put down to anyone that bought one, just from someone who has been down the road of the $1599.00 tractors that last a few years and then you buy another. I work at a JD dealer and we are seeing these tractors coming in now that are 2-3 years old with transmission problems because they were not really made for the job they are doing. I have a customer that mows almost 5 acres with a L110! Too much for that little tractor!
