ive got a few questions about my 43 b i read in a Past post about changing a mag from a h to a b i did that quite awhile ago but i didnt chand that cup you all talked about i plow and pull at the tractor shows with it is it worth changing the cup for the mag that ison the tractor is a x i have a c that came on my b but the housing is broke. alsothe left side of the block keeps getting oil all over it i think its coming from the pet cock but ive changed that several times even put abrand new one on from jd still same problem under heavy load can see a mist coming from pet cock. last question i have a dltx 10 carb on it i know its for a unstyled b but its all i can afford cause i found it in a pile of scrap i can get plenty of fuel to the tractor but i cant get the air right any cheap fixes for this thought about takin a dremel tool and boring the throat out a little any suggestions thanks

You probabaly have the same impulse coupling as I think all H's used the short lug one. Unstyled B's and maybe the first few years of styled used the long lug. The degrees of timing should be the same since they were both all fuel models. I have to tap some of my petcocks tapered valve in to tighten them up when running so they don't leak.Sometimes with lapping compound you can get those valves to seal better. I would not take a dremel to that carb. throat as it will likely ruin it for anyone to use. It likely still has some junk blocking up the fuel passages so your adjustments don't work right. If your B has the stock bore and stroke that unstyled B carb. if working correctly should give you enough adjustments to run right. I bet the throat and throttle plates are the same size between the one you have and the one it calls for.I have only really seen problems when people try running an A carb. on a B or vica versa. Unless they are running some weirdly modified puller than a late A carb. or G carb. will help.

Thats an all fuel carb on a none all fuel engine I think. Which could be a little bit of your problem. Those carb are worth about $400 but so are the ones you need.
