I have a 1960 1010 gasser. Wide front. How do I tell what designation this tractor is ... Row Crop (R), Single Row Crop (RS), Row Crop Utility (RU), Orchard (O), Utility (U), and Industrial Wheel (W) or a low-cost Special Row Crop Utility (RUS)?

Thanks

The plate looks like it"s for the engine when you first see it. Sometimes it doesn"t get transfered to the replacement when an engine swap is done also.

If you wish, provide your entire ser.# with all designations and we can help. There are a number of places to find out the proper designation. You can tell by looking up some part numbers also such as fenders, rear axle housings, etc. Post back and we can help.

The serial number off the right side of the engine reads "T 16277-T". The tractor hasn't been delivered yet, so I can't go out and verify that, but that's what I wrote down about a week ago.

Thanks.

I think the first T stands for Tractor and the second one stands for Tall. JUST KIDDING! I have no idea what you are getting. My 1010 says RU right on the plate with the serial number.

Hmm ... perhaps that's part of the problem. I haven't found a plate. That serial number is embossed right into the block.

The serial # should be on a plate on the block between the generator and the oil filter. The plate is riveted or screwed on. Mine have the serial # and tell the type RS by the number. eddie
