I bot a disk on farm sale,BW series I think. Has bearings that you buy pieces and rebuild. It was ran with blades loose and spools and bearings are stuck on shaft. Would like to put new blades on it and use it, but haven't had any luck getting spools and bearings off. Tried a press and didn't budge, soaked with PB blaster and haven't had any luck. Don't really want to use heat and ruin bearings, rebuilt one and cost about $75. Any ideas?? Thanks in advance, Chris

lock the axle in a vise and cut a notch in the disk with a grinder or torch and drive the blade around the axle in the opposite way it was turning when being used and it will line back up on the axle and come off easy. i wouldn't worry about the bearing getting to hot to start with. you could keep it cool with a water hose and cut the blades off easy then.

When the blades run loose for a long time they
will cut a groove into the axle leaving a ridge
at the edge of the groove making it hard to remove the spacers and bearings. Take your time and tap the parts back and forth and that will normally free them up.
Good Luck
