Does anyone know how to replace the radio antenna? It looks like the roof may have to come off the top to get to it.

Gerry are you still out there in reply to bernie in virginia, 01-11-2006 14:08:04
Gerry, I finally got around to working on this. What I wound up doing was taking the roof off and placing the new antenna in a slot under the roof between the interior top. I just left the old one in place. New one works fine. Thanks for your help.
Bernie

Bernie: Hope we are talking about a recent tractor. I had a 6320, year 2003. I also have a 6420, year 2005. What looks like to me is that you can go in through the front ceiling auxiliary panel and or through the ceiling toolbox on the right side. This box is very tough to get out. At least it has been for me. The manual shows it right there in the roof section right above the ceiling panel and right below the roof. The dealer has changed my antenna before and put one in with an amplifier. That seams to be the norm up here. Hope this helps. I do not know how to upload the help file ( page ) or I would. Gerry

Gerry, that was my first thought to. I pulled the two screws in the box but it would not drop down enough to get it out. Any thoughts on how it comes out?

Bernie: I broke one getting it out and almost broke another. I used putty knives to get behind the trim and worked it out. I think it was the window trim. I think if you pull the right aux panel in front you should be able to get to the antenna. The real problem is getting the wires out of the plug. Their is a special tool to pull the wires out of the plug. My dealer lent me his. Pull the antenna off and then the nut that holds it on the roof and I think you can fish it out the front without pulling the tool box. Good Luck. Let me know how you do. Sorry I did not get back to you yesterday. Was out all day..... .. Gerry
