Does anyone know if there are any electric serviers,like they used to check the mags and distributors with, for sale. I'm also looking for a Allen Magnetizer.

I bought the entire contents of an old magneto repair shop last year. They had also been a parts dealer for Wisconsin and Clinton engines, a Sioux dealer and Wico and Fairbanks-Morse magneto parts dealer. The building got sold and was being cleaned out. The parts were what I wanted - but while I was there - the owner started throwing stuff into the back of my truck. He chucked in half a dozen old magneto/coil testers - Eiseman 10V-80Cs and Jack & Heintz Precison Industries models - and also a bunch of armature cutters and growler-testers. Also, in the corner of the building were two Weidenhoff magnetizers - pretty heavy machines., a Sunnen honing machine, and also two Sioux valve refacers. I took everything for $200 - and if I hadn't, I think the owner was going to scrap everything. I was a little shocked when I put some of the stuff for sale on Ebay. One Eiseman tester - for which I was hoping to get $50, brought over $800. I put up one of the Weidenhoff magnetizers and it brought $600. I kept the other one. I've been around this stuff my whole life and have been a mechanic since the early 1960s - but - I had no idea people were paying that kind of money for this stuff. I hate to say it, but when I left that shop with my truck loaded - there were many items left behind - that did get scrapped.

There are some around. Check all the online selling places as they appear there from time to time. Also watch aircraft surplus places as airplanes used magnetos too. All the companies that made the test equipment are long gone and those that are still in business don't offer any parts or service for that old test equipment. Allen brand equipment is the least of my favorites. Weidenhoff and H.G. Makelim made some nice testers and chargers also. One place in Houston was making new mag test stands and magnet chargers for a while but I think that stopped after the oil bust last time. I sometimes have test equipment to sell also but only a smaller charger no one seems to want right now.
