720gasser,
Turn your carb upside down and let the float rest against the needle. Lay a straight edge across the highest part of the float (actually the float bottom when it is on the tractor), and the bottom of the straight edge is to be 3/4" above the bottom of the groove where the bowl gasket is located.

The idle needles initial opening is 1 1/2 turns, and the load metering screw in the center of the bowl nut is 2 1/2 turns open. There are no load needles in a duplex carb - the fuel to the load circuit is metered by two jets. The load metering screw allows a small amount of additional fuel to compensate for altitude changes, etc. As I recall (details are in the shop), the fuel from the screw goes through a #63 hole, which is much smaller than the load jet sizes.

Settings for the DLTX-95 gas carb used on 720: float level = 3/4", fuel level 5/8", Load screw = 2 1/2 turns
Idle Needle = 1 1/2 turns

These same settings also apply to DLTX-75 to DLTX-99
