Is there someone that can tell me how the exhaust pipe on a JD 2010 is supposed to be attached to the manifold? Mine is just sitting on the outlet hole and it can bounce out.

I just put a new manifold on mine. The exhaust outlet was threaded and I screwed on a piece of galvanize pipe then clamped my exhaust to it. The JD dealer wanted $94 dollars for the 'tube' that's supposed to go on it. The specs show the tube to be 14" but I use a 6" and it seems fine.

On the old manifold someone had had welded a 'tube' on it. It broke off going under a tree limb the other day. The manifold is no longer supported by JD. But there are some after market ones available.

Thanks for the information. I too saw the $94 prict tag from JD. I have considered brazing my existing tube onto the manifold. Does anybody have any concerns with that?

If your going to braze I would connect a 'tube' so you can slip/clamp your exhaust over it. The main issue being to be able to remove the tractor's hood. Also if exhaust is damaged or someing you don't have to cut it off to replace.

As I mentioned my old manifold had been welded/brazed for quite some time before I broke it. I've heard its hard to weld old 'pot metal' but that's an issue for someone else.

If the threads are still in your manifold you really should screw a piece of pipe down in there. BTW... new after market manifold $130-170
