Hello,
I am looking for info on a 80's John Deere 844 Wheel Loader. Basically what I am looking for is value and spec's. Not sure this is the site for but am sure someone can point me in the right direction.

The JD construction site shows the 844J but I didn't explore enough to see if they have info on the 844 you are looking at. Check with a industrial dealer out there or ask on the crawler forum too. There is something like a blue book on values and specs for construction machinery out there but I'm not sure who sells those? Might look around at intertec books dot com or check with some other local contractors with large equipment too. Ritchie bros. auctions deals in lots of large machinery too.

My friend is looking at one that has been parked for awhile and trying to figure out what their worth. Not really sure what he plans on doing with it. Finding out that there isn't to find info on the internet. Thank you,

844 is a pretty good sized loader (I wanna say 4 and half yard machine) BIGGEST down fall is that they are powered with the same V8 that the 8850's had. Should be a cheap loader.

go to deeres web site, at one time they still gave specs for old production equipment,,,I think you can find used equip on there too,,billy
