I bought one from Deere a 4-5 years ago. I welded a socket on and cut the cam out of it. makes an excelant tool to turn the engine over and back up if you want to.

Well Joe it looks like it is an adapter to hand start a tractor. It is not the one used for the early styled A,B or G as they were solid. I have not seen what the ones for the late styled or numbered series used. In fact I have not heard of anyone useing one on the enclosed flywheel, but I think it can be done.

I guess it is somewhat rare as it is the first one I have seen. On the other hand if they were in great demand I would have seen one I guess. Most folks that could not start there tractor with the starter would pull it if they have a way. I don't think it will bring more than a couple bucks if you found someone who wanted one. I would put it on a shelf and may find a use, or buyer for it someday.
