would like any info on amount of antifreeze I should use in my A John Deere

Use 50-50 pre-mix, or mix the water and antifreeze BEFORE pouring in the tractor, assuming this is a thermo-syphon system.

How cold does it get there? A 50/50 mix of quality ethylene glycol antifreeze and soft or distilled water will provide about the best freeze protection and minimize corrosion. Several companies, including Deere, are making premix coolants that you just dump in. Deere's isn't cheap, but it's a 5-year/5000-hr coolant made for heavy-duty applications. Probably overkill on and old tractor, but it's sure handier than dumping in a gallon of water, a gallon of A-F, etc.
