Hello I seem to have problems with my spark plug. One of them quit working for no particular reason. Both of them are identical, both spark when held against the block. If I swap them, then the same plug acts up. I tried a new one, AC 87 same as the old one, but it doesnt work either. Is there one out there that is a better one? Blew my mind!!!

Try a set of DENSO (5000) plugs

I would try some Autolite 388 as John suggested. I recently tried them & found them to perform very good. Check your plug wires to see if they are solid wire center.

I just replaced the wires with the fibre ones! Don't tell me there no good ;) because they both work with the good plug, and they both worked when I put them on. The problem has to be in the plug, and maybe the new one is a dud is that possible? By the way what makes you say to use the wire ones? Thanks Arthur.

Arthur. Yes it is very possible the new plug is a dud. I have always used AC plugs , however I believe they are not making them like they once did. The C88L's have a lot less metal from the insulater to the thread area. I have tried the autolite 388's and have had good results. As for plug wires, the wire centers deliver the best spark.

You might try an AC88-L or Autolite 388. These are one step hotter. The 87 should work though. Make sure the plug wires, rotor and cap are good. If all this is fine, check points and condenser. I was having fits with one of my tractors one time and it turned out to be the condenser. Hope this helps.
