Just bought a 1959 440 Industrial gas tractor. It has three point, PTO, and a front end loader. There is not much information available on these it seems. Does anyone know how many were made, and where I could get more info on this...the JD dealer says he doesn't even have a parts list for it!! Thanks

Judging from your comment I would say you needed a new JD dealer..I have not needed many parts for my 440ID but have never had a problem getting them

The 440i is essentially a 420/430 ag tractor with a few differing bits, like the hood and nose piece. Most of the parts listed for the 420 will cross fine. You can still get a copy of the 440i parts manual from JD and use those numbers when you go to the dealer. His computer parts system crosses the old numbers to the new ones. He can then order you just about anything you'd need.

Thanks, Just a coincidence. This one had a loader and 3 or 4 pieces of equipment for $3000. I'm always a day late and a dollar short. Good luck with yours.
