Hi all. Which color JD Green is correct for a 1961 John Deere 4010? I have gotten 2 different answers from the JD Parts department. Was told JD Classic one time and now he said either will be fine. I"m restoring this tractor from front to back and want it to be as close to original as possible. And if you know the PPG paint code, that would be appreciated as well. THANKS!

This sounds like a great project!! My dad's 4010D, factory narrow front, was built Oct 16, 1960, according to JD's reply to my inquiry letter from over 25 years ago, so she just turned 45 :) He's had it since 1963. It has serial no. 4230 (i think, but i know it's in the 4xxx serial nos. range) What serial no. is yours? Wide or narrow front?

Have fun with the project, and show us some photos sometime!

My 1961 4010 has the original paint and it is way darker than my 70D that is painted with classic green. I just painted my 4520 with ag green and it is a color match to my 4010.

I won't offer which color is right, as it can cause people who you don't even know to question your parentage.....but I used PPG 46180 in the DAR line on my 70D and I like it.
