I have an older running gear to restore. Has 15" rims. Anyone know the original tire size? Also, looks like maybe a 4 or 5 ton gear. Anyone know for sure?

Thanks,
John.COLO

4 tons under 20 mph and 3 tons over 20 mph (brochure dated June '53).

Tires were 4- or 6-ply 6.70-15; 6-ply 7.60-15 passenger or rib implement tires (brochure dated May '58).

Four ton I think. I have the parts and operator's manuals for the 953,954 etc around here somewhere. It even shows horse hitches for the 953/954. I have a 1950 to 1954 model 954 I just got tires for yesterday. Origional 6:00-16 Goodyear five rib implement. They look small by today's standards.
