I need a high temperature resistant Paint to finish my exhaust manifold on my John Deere LA. I would like to have a silver or gray color. Can anyone out there give me some help with this? Could also use some hints on how to smooth out some of the rough pitted spots. Thanks, AB

We are in the thermal sprayed coatings business and have been for 24 years. Our customers are mostly industrial but we do a lot of high temp coating work for private individuals.Exhaust systems headers, stacks etc for hot rods, aircraft, race cars and especially antique tractors including my own John Deere show tractors. We offer a variety of coating types and colors and our coatings prevent rust and look great for years . I am planning on offering this service on the WWW because there is a need for this service and it works so well. Approx cost for a JD manifold $100 ----all 3 pieces $ 150. We are in the PGH PA area and would be happy to hear from anybody who is interested in an excellent "finishing touch" and long term solution to a common problem.High temp paints look great for a short time but usually fail from underneath the paint. Our coatings solve this problem . If we can help please E mail or call @ (724) 226-9220

I just finished restoring my 47 "B" what did to get most of the pits out was to grind most of them out with a hard grinder, then polished the grind marks out with a mushroom sander, I then painted the intake tube only with J/D green after it dried I masked it off and painted the rest of it with high temp flat black header paint. It really turned out good, the intake tube of the manifold always stays cold so it does not damage the green finish. These high temp paints are available in many differant shades. Just make sure that whatever you are painting is real clean bare if possible. these paints are avalable at ypur local auto parts store. Ron
