Its fairly easy to upgrade to an electronic ignition if you already have a Delco distributor battery powered ignition, But if you have a Magneto or a Wico XB distributor, well thats a different story, and I would first convert to the Delco battery powered distributor n go from there. Heres some considerations.

First, it may be easier to convert to Negative ground (that tractor was originally Positive ground), although I think Pertronix can furnish you with EITHER polarity, JUST BE DARNED SURE TO GET A SWITCH FOR THE POLARITY YOURE USING

Second is voltage, again it may be easier to convert to 12 volts if youre not there already, even if Pertronix has them for 6 or 12 (Im not sure)

Third I HIGHLY RECOMMEND to get the most bang for the buck from the electronic switch and utilize its full capability,,,,, ,,,upgrade to a high energy high voltage coil. Again, make sure its compatible with the electronic switches current rating as I believe Pertronix has different current rated switches for certain of their coils. CHECK WITH PERTRONIX

Fourth if you run a wider plug gap and an elec switch and a high energy higher voltage coil, youre gonna need good quality spark plug wires, check with where you buy the switch.

Piece of cake Eh

Have 12 volt with magneto now, points are burnt.
Where to find the dist. to change over to? How expensive? Thanks for the reply.
