Just bought an A #661156 making it a late 1950 model. On top of the engine block it has POWER BLOCK 6"-3 cast into the top of it. Would that be an after market performance block? Seems to have plenty of power. Also it is an all fuel, are they a little more rare? Thanks for your help.

Arthur, The power block is an aftermarket block sold by Tractor Supply. It has a 6" bore vs the 5.5" stock bore. It was supposed to add around 7-8 HP. Mike

Arthur, it is possible your tractor is an all-fuel but it might not be. Your tractor is within the serial number range where the A's were equipped with the second tank to give them more fuel capacity until a larger tank could be designed. The earlier A's had a 14 gallon fuel tank and the starting tank would add about a gallon. Look to see if your tractor has a heat shield under the fuel tank. If it does, it is an original gas tractor with the second tank (and three-way valve). If it does not, it is an all-fuel. Hope this helps. Mike
