My best friend just bought a John Deere 1010 RU, its his first John Deere tractor, everything he and I grew up with is red, any advise you could give us on this model of John deere would be apriciated.

My friend and I have been around trators our whole lives, they were just farmall tractors, I have nothing against John Deere tractors they are great machines, heck I own john deere stock, I just grew up around red tractors, It really surpised me when he bought the JD.

I bought a gas 1010RU a couple of months ago, thus far "Lil" Johnny" has done everything I"ve ask of it.
Needless to say, I"ve done a lot of maint&repairs that one normally does to a 40year old tractor. No, its not a "power house", but it seems to handle a 6" bush hog and a 6" box blade just fine.

I still don"t have Gen Lite or the Gas Gauge working yet, but I"ll figure it out in time.
