I have a duplex carb off a 630 that is driving me nuts. Is there a hiden passage way in this carbs or something I'm missing. This tractor will start and idle but if you give it throttle or put it under a load the right cylinder starts to miss. (Sometimes it misses at idle too.) It is getting good blue spark. I have put a different carb on the tractor and it runs good. I have move the missing carb to a different tractor and same problem. When I first tore this carb down the load valve was broke off and stuck in the seat. I replaced it cleaned it out. I poked at all the holes and sprayed through all the holes and all seems to be clean. We have had this thing about about 10 times with no luck. (Its going to get wing nuts next time.) But there is something I am missing, but where???? Any ideas or where has everyone else had problems in with these carbs. NEED HELP!!!!
Thanks.

don't blow a fuse, you've got passages blocked, have been there and done that. They are really hard to clean, JD used balls in the passage bores.
Why don't you call Robert's carburator Repair 1-172-262-5311. Mr. Robert Beaver will line you out on the procedure, you can use his video or he will send you a kit with instructions. I agree these duplex's are bear. There is a passage at the bottom of the main nozzle, after you take the cap off, this has to be clean. A good agent to use for soaking is lacquer thinner. Anyway call and talk to Mr. Beaver. Don't blow a fuse.

Chuck, it just seems like in the last few months my carbs have been dropping like flies. The video from Robert's is in the mail, it should be here soon. (Ordered in the other day.) Yea, it sure would have been nice if they would have used the brass plugs like they did in the older single barrels. I'm afraid to knock out the balls because you can not get them, or at least Robert's does not have them listed in his book. Which passage way are you talking about?? There is one that runs from the the load adjustment, past the load jets to the bottem of the brass towers and then there is the one that runs parrell with the towers and goes up to the three little holes next to the trottle and to the idle adjustment jets. All seem to be clean, I'm just missing something somewhere, but just don't know where. Thanks,
JDGnut

Have you pulled the load nozzles-long brass tubes that poke up into the throat? They're under the large brass plugs on the bottom of the body. Sounds like one of them might still have crud in it.

I've had them out a million times, it seems. That's where I figured the problem was, but they are spotless, and I've switched them and still the same problem on the right cylinder. These carbs are driving me up the wall. I know it is in the carb because I can change carbs and the tractor runs great. Just really starting to piss me off. Thanks for the help. JDGnut
