still no luck .crossover valve moves freely . Iam wondering about control and check valves I changed the left control shaft and housing because the housing was broke before I got the tractor runing the first time, the timing of check valve maybe off the manual gives all setting for when the valves hit the control valve to unseat but not the travel between the to sides left and right .on my system the right side travels from back to front about 3/4 of the way then the valve comes up, the left side travel about 1/2 way the the valve comes up. and I was wrong on my first message. you have to pull both levers back to get it to left the imp.and the pressure is around 1080 with both levers back. what is the correct operation of the dual lift I do not know. Are there any 2cly mech. around north east Texas that work on these, I cannt find them?

When arms are pinned together, inside lever stays up "always". Only use outside lever. Then the lever under left side of the seat should be in the flipped forward position. And the little valves under them should be out. Not stuck.

John Deere sells a service manual for that tractor SM2013 This is what you need try calling 1-800-522-7448 normal daytime hours. This may be an outdated number ?

Allis

You must have the wrong book, the service manual and the operators manual explains the settings of the cross overs and use of the levers. To my knowledge you don't ever pull both levers up with the lifting arms pinned together.

It sounds like you may have the crossovers in the dual mode. In that mode on the 420 one of the levers stays pinned up and you only use one.

Just a tip. The book says that serious damage may result from the incorrect opperation of the valves and levers.

Cross over out, inside hydraulic lever tied back. This will control both 1/2's of the system with just the ouside lever.
