4020 transmission shaft seals

Got a 4020 I've got split for a clutch job. There was a quite a bit of oil in the clutch housing. I'm going to replace the transmission shaft seals, and have the rear main seal replaced. Question is, how many transmission seals need to be replaced at this time, and where exactly are they? I assume there are a couple on the transmission input shaft, Can I just pull this shaft straight out, or will somthing fall off further back in the transmission? Question #2- Does the rear main seal housing need to be removed to replace the seal, and will doing so destroy the oil pan gasket? Question #3, what is the best procedure for removing and replacing the throwout and PTO clutch bearings? I can't pull them off.

As far as the tranny seals there is one between the the two shafts you should not be able to pull the shaft out. There is a special tool for replacing that seal. Do not remove the rear main housing if you do not have to replace the gasket. If you have to replace that gasket I recommend removing the engine oil pan and getting that housing true to the block so the pan gasket can seal. I don't know if you have on early or late model. As far as the pto lever goes if it's hydraulic your going to want to replace the orings in there. As far as the throwout bearings go I use a slidehammer

There is also another seal on the transmission input shaft that requires the tractor to be split between the clutch housing and the transmission for replacement.

If that seal goes bad, transmission oil will leak into the clutch housing.

The answers are all in a shop manual. You will also need a jig to set the finger height, or access to someone that has one.
