I've got a 1937 JD B shortframe. Once the engine has been run for a while and is obviously hot, it will cut out and die once it is idled down to cool off before shut down. Once it dies, it has to sit for 10-12 hours before it will restart. The engine is properly lubricated and the cooling system works fine. Does anyone know anything about why this problem occurs? I thought that it might have something to do with fuel, but not sure.

Does ignition have fire after it dies? Check that. Probably a bad coil or condenser or wires.

Sounds like the coil and or condenser. But I would go more to the coil.
