John Deere B starting problem

I recently transported a 1947 John Deere B from Iowa to Colorado. The tractor ran very well in Ia thanks to a relative's willingness to work on it. However, as I attempted to unload it in Colorado I found it would not start. I suspect it needs to be "leaned-out" as the air is thinner at 5200 ft. How does one accomplish this? Or are there any other issues? It certainly is getting fuel and spark. Smells a little flooded...

jon this is a pretty easy task. all you must do is screw in the needle jets located on top of the carb until the tractor smooths out. this may not be the problem though. through transporting something could have got under the needle and seat and cause the gas to overflow in the carb. therefore flooding the tractor. sometimes tapping on the bowl will fix it, sometimes you have to pull the bowl down and clean out the needle and seat .
hope this helps

You may have a weak spark.OLd magnetos get tired,Points, condenser and coil are usual problems.Stale gas will give much trouble, try a little prestone starting fluid.Old JDs dont like over choking either
