Clutch Repair on John Deere 2550

Trtactor sat outdoors since last fall. Could not put in gear.
Dealer says it needs Clutch repair and they have to "split" the tractor to do the repair. Estimated at $2,500 Parts & Labor!
Is that price normal? Seems very high to me.
Anyone out there know what this job should cost me?

Depends on what all needs replaced but , looking through my Heartland Clutch catalog, If it is a cab tractor, about $950 for the complete clutch kit,
for cabless tractor around $625 for the clutch kit.
Plus labor, probably 12 to 15 hours would be more than enough. so if it is a Deere dealer , they probably get $70 to $80 per hour right..
