Couple Cut off Questions

Couple Questions about old wheels in general.

1) Cutoffs means that the wheels were originally on steel and that the steel rim was cut off and a rubber accepting rim was welded on the spokes, correct?

2) Is there such a thing as front wheel cutoffs on old deeres or are all spoked front wheels originally rubber?

3) Were wheels with rounded spokes always for rubber tires or could you have cutoffs with rounded spokes. And, were the square spoked wheels always steel wheels.

4) I have a 1941 B with dish rear wheels and dish front. Could it have come with rounded spoked rubber wheels or on steel?

Thanks in advance.

JD's can have more types of wheels than you can imagine.

This is what I have seen, on the rears round spoke w/rubber. Spokes look like they were riveted in near the rim.Of course they could of always rotted off and needed a new rim welded in place.Making it now a "cut off" I also think there was a flat spoke with a rim for rubber tires I have seen on some early styled B's Rear steel with flat spokes many many stlyes. Most common type of "cut off" was these cut off having a rim welded in place for rubber tires. On the front, round spokes with steel wheels,or rims for rubber. Factory ones looked riveted in place "cut offs" should be able to see the welds. Also some flat spoke steel wheels,GP or D ?These could also have been "cut off" and a rim for rubber added. Many various makers and styles of all,I think 2 cyl club or green mag. made a book just on wheels.
