Hey guys. My brother needs some help with a loose flywheel on a 720d with a pony. What is a "Taperlock" , how does it work & any idea where they are available in Ontario? He said his flywheel has cracked & now the wheel has turned & the splines are stuck together. I haven't seen it, but does this sound like a Taperlock fix, or a crank & wheel to fix him up? Thanks from us both!!

My 70 D has had a taper lock on it since the mid 80's. My original flywheel cracked through the bolt bosses & started to pound real suddenly. Neither the flywheel nor the crank had any visable damage. I was lucky. The noise came on suddenly and the cracks were plainly visible. Pounding went away just as suddenly when the taper lock was installed.

Be sure to adjust your free travel carefully.

I have a taper lock on my 70D and 730D they hold on the crank real good if you put them right. the splines on my 70 were pretty bad and I put the taper lock on about 6 years ago I got it from Dennis Polk in Indiana.

..... I don't know about taperlock flywheel suppliers in Ontario but you might try Dengler Tractor in Ohio..... last time I checked they had taperlocks and a lot of other 2-cyl parts too..... .

Good luck to all!
