fair price for 420 hyd pump rebiuld

friend of mine needs the hyd. pump rebuilt on his 420 what is a fair price to do it JD dealer wants 750 to do the work. I'm sure it will be done right by them but 750 seems high.

Don't know how you could ever get that much in one if it was for a 2 cyl.420 very simple do it yourself.

Or does he have a newer 420 lawn mower and that is the hydro unit ????? if so than $750 may be right.
