I have a 43'-44' A and attempting to get it fixed up and useable. I have 2 hoods, 1 with a bad top and good sides, the other with a good top and sides that have holes rusted through. Has anyone ever tried to seperate the 3 and piece one togather? I see its spot welded togather. I do ave a MIG welder to help get it back togather but is it worth the trouble?

Good sheet metal is hard to come by. Shouldn't be that hard to do. Just do yourself a favor and go to an autobody supply house or body shop maybe even NAPA and buy some of the special spot weld drill bits. These are made to let you drill through one layer of the spot weld this leaves the bottom panel intact and then when you reuse your other panels you have a hole in them to plug weld back together.
