I had the carb rebuilt because the tractor hesitates when running it wide open. It will slow down slightly and then rev back to normal. We hooked to a dyno and ran it for ten minutes under load.....never skipped a beat. Any ideas? Seems to idle fine at low speed.

I'm not sure what to say on this except you may want to get some D manuals and see about adjusting your govenor spring and linkage and see if that helps. Also if you have the RPMs turned up too much the govenor isn't going to work right doing things like that too. If that doesn't help it would be back to checking the carb more, fuel lines, govenor, valves, and intake.

I had a late model A that had that problem, and I finally found that the gasket between the head and the intake manifold was bad. I replaced it and the tractor ran fine. DickD
