I have a john Deere 4400 and would like to fill the rear tires with anti-freeze solution. What is the correct way to fill them? How much solution? I have lawn tires on the tractor now. Thanks

I used to work at a tire shop, the only thing you really need which is easy to mix up is a few bags of calcium chloride and water, we mixed it one 50 lbs bage to every 300 gallons

I used windshield washer fluid and it seemed to work fine. I was able to get the winter version at Walmart for $.89 a gallon, which was a lot cheaper than what I could find for any kind of antifreeze.

Windshield washer fluid work fine and isn't a hazmat issue during leaks.

I agree with the iron weights as a first choice, CC as a second choice and never going with antifreeze. If you get a leak in a tire, cleaning up the antifreeze will be a nightmare and it doesn't take much to kill an animal. Got any pets?

Iam talking about useing RV-Anti freeze.Safe to drink even for people. Wont freeze and tastes great!

If at all possible, go with iron weights.If you use calcium chloride, the rims are subject to rusting if you get a leak and it is becoming a waste disposal problem if you decide the fluid was not a good idea.Some people are now using beet juice since it won't freeze,but my tire man said the beet juice is a mess to also use.It is sticky and plugged their equipment the few times they tried using it.
