I went out to the Barn to take my B for a run around the yard this morning and found that there was a leak coming from where the axle leaves the axle housing. What kind of repairs would I be looking at?

In the center of the photo is the seal that has failed on my 1944 B. Gear oil is leaking back out of the axle housing where it should not have been. Once you pull the axle all the way out you will need to clean out as much of the gear oil from the axle housing or it will continue to leak even after you have replaced this seal with a new one.

That pic was great! That is just what I had to do to my AR. After I pulled out the axel shaft I used an old ax handle to force out the seal from the outer ends of the housing. They came out fine and dropped into that mess of old gear oil. The local seal supplier got me new ones and I was back in good shape. Get them lined up square frome the inside and drive them home. Make sure that the area where the seal seats is good and clean before you set them in place.
