Looking for a 3 point JD plow to put on my G with 800 series 3 point hitch. Searched the archives, didn't find much. What jd plow did people use with this machine back in the day? Would like to take to plow days & work my food plots. Enjoy plowing with the antiques, but tired of messing with the pull type plows on & off the trailer. I thought I saw something on a 810 or 812 plow with gauge wheel to handle lack of depth control? I assume 3 16's should be no problem? Thanks, Plan on looking for something @ Waukee Swap meet

Depends upon the ground and your G. I would think that a 3x16 might be quite a load for a stock G unless the ground is good. I would look for a 3x14.

Around here most people used a 3x16 with a 730D even though a 4x14 was commonplace in other places where the ground was better.

I agree that the trailer is more bother when going to shows, but I very much prefer a trailer plow. I've used an 8N, 860 and 5000 Fords and a 3010 with mounted plows, brother has a 2X00 semimtd on a 4240 which I refuse to use. Most of the G's were used with 3x14 55H's. Along with a landing lever the noivce can do a nicer job of plowing than they could with any mounted or semimounted plow.
