Model B aluminium pistons.

I bought a set of replacement pistons for the 46 model B. The originals are cast iron. The replacements are a concave aluminium piston that is taller than the original, and the old are flat topped. I am assuming these will work, and will likely increase the compression ratio. First question is: Will there be a corrosion problem with the aluminium piston in the iron cylinder in the long run. 2)will this run on distillate with the higher compression ratio. Ken

You can machine the top on those aluminum pistons to give you the comp. ratio you want to burn distillate.Earl

You will not have a corrosion problem (unless you let it sit out and water gets down the stacks )I would say that everything has alum. pistons in it made today. It sounds like you will have more compression,which will make it run better on gas and knock if you try kerosene.
