I have a little M that I think is pretty well original but is missing the knob on the starter rod. Can"t seem to find one and just wandering what kind of a knob that threaded on that rod???

Bill_40S is correct the knob is the same for both. This is the part number M 2544 T Knob(sub. for AM346T).

I bought a new one for my 40 from JD last year. My guess would be the M is the same.
