As jdhbag said, that's just a casting number on the mower. Sitting in a fence row, $50 to $75 would be top dollar. Do you want it to use or just restore and hope to resell it? They were made for many years and probably 10s of thousands of them still around in every conceivable state of repair.

Part# Z 1051 H is the upper cover on the JD #5 mower gear box according to my #5 parts manual.

Hard to beat anything for free unless you have to spend a bundle to get ti home. Number sounds like a part number. The ones you usually see are #5s. Lots of them around but parts are good to have if you can't make it work. I have purchased or hauled home various pieces of equipment for parts or even for the metal in them. Built split stands from an old cultivator I was given and have used the metal to repair other stuff.

I am not sure what model you found as that number means nothing to me without research. However, implements don't have much value. If this is a usable mower, say a model 5 through 8, it's worth about $200 to $250.00. If it's restored, it could bring $375.00.
