4020 hydraulics

I hooked onto the disk today and my hydraulics are slow, i just bought this tractor and don't yet have a manual, it is a 68 synchro, the guy that owned it always had a loader on it, is there any adjustments i can make so it will raise and lower faster? Thanks.

Was the loader a single acting cylinder loader boom or single acting bucket? Might be as simple as closing a one way cylinder valve.The flow control valve is the larger of the two adjustments on the front end of the SCV valve under the hood.The proper adjustment is to set the valve where the cylinder completes its cycle from full extended to fully retracted of vice versa in 2 seconds with the engine running at 2200 RPM. An elementary question or two,but has to be asked,have you changed the hydraulic filter?Cleaned the hydraulic suction screen in the bottom of the transmission case? This is the place to start.Start with the filter first since it is the easiest and most liklely culprit.

You can adjust the flow (valve control box under the hood). Been a long time since I fooled with adjusting one; best I remember, it's a screw driver slot with a jam nut; may be two of 'em, one for detent. You're getting a manual????? ????? ??

Like thurlow said, checking the flow adjustment screws would be the easiest place to start.
Checking main hyd. pressure would be another good place to start. Did you operate the remote cyl. in both sets of breakaways? Also what kind of hyd. control valves does the tractor have, any aftermarket control valves on that unit?

I am having problem with the hydralic system. It was working fine and just like flipping a switch my front end loader quit working along with the 3-point. I hooked a gauge to the hydralics to the front end loader and there is no pressure.
I still have power steering. Any suggestions
