JD 8300, after the coupling shaft from engine to the tranny failed at the spline during a field work, we followed the manual instruction to unblock the brakes. so we hauled the tractor and reapired.
We reverse the procedure and we unblocked the brake pulling the ball with a magnetic piece. It is still standind like a stubborn donkey.any help please?
thanks Alex

check the oil in there often as transmission oil is too thick and will cause the clutch to slip and take the faceings off. if there is trans oil in there you need to replace the pto clutch oil pump seal.

I just got done rebuilding the live clutches in a 50. I am afraid you will have to bite the bullet on this one as I am generally sure no one makes these clutches other than Deere.

Also, expect to replace the brake plate, bearings etc. when you get in there!

I ended up with $500 in mine when it was all done! Worth it though to be able to run my #30 combine with it!
