Am working on a JD B serial # above 201 000. Have not been able to get the bevel gear off so that I can replace the bearing. I have removed the snap ring but feel that I am still missing some thing-- is there another snap ring? Sure would appreciate any help or ideas. Thanks in advance and God bless. JM

Joe, about the only way we get those (its press fit as Mike told ya) to move are to chuck up behind the gear and use a hydraulic press centered on the shaft to push it out of the gear. A gear puller may not be strong enough and can be hard to keep centered and pulling straight out. Do a good job of chucking up and centering cuz them are one tight of a press fit.

Those gears are also a press fit on the shaft. You will need a bearing separator(cheese cutter)and a gear puller or better yet a press.
