Does anyone know how many were made and what one may be worth. The engine is stuck and full of rain water. It nedds one rear wheel and all the tires. The sheet metal is pretty good and appears to be complete. It has been converted to electric start. THANKS Tony

If the owner is going to part it out, I might be interested. I just bought an 80 ricer out of AR and it needs some serious work. Like the others say, people dont know how many were made. However I do know they were used harder than the wheatlands so many of the ricers were probably parted out. I have left my email open so if you have any questions just email me. UofLnColts

There are no production figures, just guesses. As for value, probabaly just figure what a normal 80 is worth in that condition. I defintely don't think it needs scrapped, but it sure sounds like there is a lot of work there!

And Gene is right, they are not called 80 Rice Specials, but I usually call them that too. You could call it a 80 Ricer or something. Parts books call it Cane and Rice Field equipment on the R, 80, 820, and 830. Just the 820/830 had the decal on the hood saying "Rice Special".

The previous owner by his/her actions have said that it was not worth keeping the rain out of it. If it is full they made this decision year after year. If one rim is shot they looked at leaking calcium chloride year after year.
Value?
$400 c.a. 4 ton @ $100(?)/tn.
-$60+ Tire disposal
- $? Draining and disposal of fluids
-$75+ Hauling
+ value of salvagable parts.

Salvagable parts only have value to the extent that you or someone else needs them.
