I'm familiar with the 4020 more than the 3020 series. I can buy an early ('67) 3020 diesel which has had the engine overhauled. When that's done, do they use a late 3020 kit, and if so, does it boost the hp to the later 74 hp? Thanks

It will depend on the maker of the kit and which shop did the work. Deere and Clevite use the newer high ring design piston which will help cold starting, fuel economy slighty, and a minor improvement in power. If the head was rebuilt to later specs. with the valve protrusion out farther, and the pump rebuilt,it would be possible to see 75-80 hp.But if all they did was put in liner kits and bearings and ground the valves,no appreciable HP increase will be seen.

3020 Diesels all had 276 cu in displacement; early or late.
