Tom, I've included a picture of the PowrTrol Rockshaft housing of my model 50 in this post. On the left you will see the side that mates to the rear end. There is a piston-and-arm assy that operates the rockshaft itself. The piston goes in the rockshaft cylinder. If you are leaking hydraulic oil into the transmission, its likely to be the gasket on this rockshaft cylinder. Above the rockshaft cylinder you will see the PTO pump with a shaft that looks like the PTO shaft that comes out the back of your tractor. If the seal on this shaft leaks, you will get transmission oil leaking into the PTO clutch housing. On the right side you will see the same Rockshaft assy from the other side. You can just barely see the Rockshaft Cylinder. On the top you can see the PTO clutch basket (where the PTO clutch plates fit). The shaft on the oppsite side which runs through the PTO pump is actually part of this clutch basket. To the right of the clutch basket is where the actual PTO shaft (that comes out of the back of the tractor) will go. To replace the Rockshaft Cylinder Gasket and PTO Pump seal, you will have to remove the rockshaft housing from your tractor. Not an especially hard job, but the rockshaft housing is quite heavy (a two man job). Another seal to replace is the large rubber "O-ring" on the rockshaft piston. If the rockshaft will raise but sinks under a load, its likely that this O-ring is leaking. Note that this O-ring will not cause hydraulic oil to leak into the transmission. Hydraulic oil leaking into the transmission is likely to be caused by the cylinder gasket. I've unhid my email address. Drop me an email if I can explain anything. I've also got a picture of the PTO Clutch itself. Best of luck, John 1953 Model 50
